Direct Thermal Labels
Direct Thermal Labels
Direct Thermal printing uses chemically treated, heat-sensitive media that blackens when it passes under the thermal printhead to produce a clear and durable image. Printing labels on direct thermal label printers do not require ribbons or inks.
Here at ForeFront Label Solutions, we provide direct thermal labels in various sizes, shapes, types and color. The labels are compatible with industrial, desktop and mobile direct thermal printers for several manufacturers.
Top Coated vs. Non-Top Coated Direct Thermal Labels
Coating on direct thermal is sensitive to environmental factors such as erosion from chemicals, scratches, humidity, and UV exposure that can degrade or damage the printed content of the label. To help preserve and protect the printed content from such environmental factors, a top coat on direct thermal labels is available providing greater resistance. Non-top coated (uncoated) direct thermal labels are more economical and ideal for labeling applications limited to environmental factors or short-term usage such as shipping/receiving labels, receipts, barcodes, name tags and fast-selling product labels.
